Beacon Clinic, North Idaho’s premier cancer care center, has partnered with OneOncology to bring the latest cancer treatment options and research to oncology patients in North Idaho and Eastern Washington. OneOncology is a physician-led national platform based in Nashville, Tennessee, that specializes in partnering with and empowering independent oncology practices to improve patient care.

Beacon was founded in 2018 by David Bartels, DO, and Krista Bartels, JD. It started as a cancer care center but has since expanded its practice to encompass rheumatology. Beacon Clinic is a physician-owned practice with 11 providers treating patients at clinics in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls.

This new partnership with OneOncology will enhance Beacon’s delivery of cancer care services to its patients. In its cancer division, Beacon has a radiation oncologist, four medical oncologists, four advanced-practice providers, and a stellar team of support personnel.

Beacon offers services across the continuum of cancer care, including immunotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, clinical trials, in-house oral medication dispensing, and onsite phlebotomy services. In addition, Beacon has strong relationships within the Idaho medical community and is part of an extensive network of cancer care specialists and providers across the country. These deep local and national ties foster seamless continuity of care for its patients.

By joining the OneOncology platform, Beacon Clinic will maintain its independence while gaining access to a robust platform of clinical, operational, and technological resources supporting comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care. The partnership will empower Beacon Clinic’s team of providers with real-time clinical insights, proven technological tools, collaborative research opportunities, and operational solutions to challenges that community practices face, ultimately enhancing patient care.

“The physicians at Beacon Clinic are among the most trusted cancer caregivers in Idaho, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the OneOncology platform,” said Jeff Patton, MD, CEO of OneOncology.  “We look forward to working with our new partners to help their practice grow, add services along the continuum of care to their clinics, and continue bringing world-class cancer care to North Idaho.”

“Providing the highest quality patient care to our community has been an absolute dream come true for the entire Beacon Clinic team,” said Dr. David Bartels. “By partnering with OneOncology, we plan to grow and expand the cancer care and multidisciplinary services we provide so our patients can continue to receive cutting-edge, world-class care without having to travel long distances, be separated from their support system, or seek care outside of their community.”

Beacon is the 26th practice nationally to join since OneOncology was founded in 2018. OneOncology was established by community oncologists to improve the lives of everyone living with cancer, regardless of geographic location.

Through group purchasing, operational optimization, data analytics, practice growth, and clinical innovation, OneOncology enables community oncology practices like Beacon Clinic to improve patient access to care in their communities at a lower cost than in the hospital setting while remaining independent. With this latest partnership, Beacon becomes part of OneOncology’s network of over 1,300 cancer care providers treating approximately 747,000 patients at more than 420 sites nationwide.
